UTEP Track & Field at Two Meets This Weekend, Bryan Clay Invite & Mt. SAC Relays

EL PASO – The UTEP track and field team will be competing at a pair of California meets that started competition on Wednesday. The Miners are at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific (April 13-15) at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, and the 6nd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (April 14-16) at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut.
 
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL (LIVE RESULTS LINK)
The Bryan Clay Invitational shot off Wednesday as Titus Cheruiyot captured first place in the 10,000-meter race. It was Cheruiyot's first career 10,000m event, as the sophomore clocked in a 29:14.08. Rodgers Korir also competed in the race, clocking in a personal-best 29:55.74. It was Korir's first time in his career clocking in under 30 minutes in the 10K.
 
The Bryan Clay will resume on Thursday headlined by Kenneth Talavera and Carolyne Chepkosgei running the 800-meter races at 4:30 pm MT (men's 800) and 5:20 pm MT (women's 800), respectively. The remainder of the distance events will be completed on Thursday.
 
Friday will feature the sprinters and throwers at the Bryan Clay. Jordani Woodley will run the men's 110-meter hurdles at 11:55 am MT, while Maribel Caicedo will take the track for the women's 100-meter hurdles at 12:35 pm MT.
 
MT. SAC RELAYS (LIVE RESULTS LINK)
Aleks Hristov will commence UTEP's competition with the discus on Thursday at 11 am MT. Hristov will also compete in the shot put.
 
Sah-Jay Stevens will do the shot put at Noon. MT on Thursday, while Daniel Bernal will conclude the day with the men's 10K at 9:30 pm MT.
 
On Friday, Arianne Morais and Roosa Yloenen will compete in the women's javelin at 12:30 pm MT.
