UTEP Track & Field to Conclude Regular Season at Desert Heat Classic Saturday

SCHEDULE

EL PASO – The UTEP track and field team will compete at its final regular-season meet at the Desert Heat Classic hosted by the University of Arizona at Roy P. Drachman Stadium on Saturday, April 30.

UTEP will compete against host Arizona, Arizona State, Northern Arizona, NM State, BYU, Oregon, UNLV, Virginia Tech, San Diego State, Idaho and Purdue.

Competing for the Miners on the women's side are Loubna Benhadja (400m H), Chinique Brown (400m, 200m), Oghenekaro Brume (400m), Maribel Caicedo (100m H), Carolyne Chepkosgei (800m), Samantha Cordier (hammer, shot put), Karoline Daland (3000m steeplechase), Carshaylah Harrison (100m H, 400m H), Krishna Jayasankar Menon (shot put, discus), Celina Johannsen (pole vault), Denae McFarlane (100m, 200m), Arianne Morais (shot put), Natalie Murillo (hammer, shot put, discus), Victoria Ovalles (5000m), Marissa Simpson (100m H), Sah-Jay Stevens (hammer, shot put), Karen Villa Medina (100m H, high jump, long jump) and Roosa Yloenen (javelin).

Making the trip for the men are Gabriel Armijo (5000m), Ned Azemia (400m H), Daniel Bernal (5000m), Jalen Cadet (200m, 400m, long jump), Stephen Carreto (400m H), Benjamin Coronado (hammer, shot put, discus), Karon Dean (100m), Ronaldo Griffiths (400m H), Aleks Hristov (shot put, discus), Dennis Johnson (100m), Maxwell Kipkosgei (800m), Rodgers Korir (5000m), Juan Olmos (3000m steeplechase), Misael Ortiz (hammer, shot put, discus), Jevaughn Powell (400m), Michael Sims (1500m), Kenneth Talavera (1500m), Aman Verma (200m), Maurice Westmoreland (discus), and Osaze Williams (800m, 1500m).

Competition will start with the field events at Noon PT/1 MT with the women's hammer throw. The running events will begin at 5:25 p.m. PT/6:25 MT with the women's 100-meter hurdles. The women's 4x400 will shoot off at 9:35 p.m. PT/10:35 MT, while the men's 4x4 relay will conclude the meet at 9:45 p.m. PT/10:45 MT.
