UTEP Men’s Golf Returns to Action at Redhawk Invitational April 4-5

EL PASO – The UTEP men's golf team will hit the links for the first time in almost a month as the Miners will play at the 8^thSeattle U Redhawk Invitational at Chamber's Bay Golf Course (par 71 – 7,068 yards) in University Place, Wash., on April 4-5.

Monday's 36 holes (rounds 1-2) and Tuesday's final round (18 holes) will both have 8 a.m. PT/9 MT shotgun starts. Live scoring available here: https://m.birdiefire.com/tournament/96697/.

UTEP is one of 24 programs competing. The Miners will go against host Seattle, Abilene Christian, Boise State, Boston College, CSUN, Cal Baptist, Cleveland State, Delaware, George Washington, Idaho, LaSalle, Lamar, Loyola Chicago, Oregon State, Pacific, Sacramento State, Seton Hall, UC San Diego, UT Arlington, UTRGV, Washington (individuals only) Western Carolina and Wichita State.

Making the trip for the Miners are Danny Daniels (74.7 avg.), Greg Holmes (75.4), Marcus Khaw (72.7), Jacob Presutti (74.4) and Damon Vilkauskas (73.7).

LAST TIME ON THE LINKS
UTEP last competed on March 5-6 at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate hosted by Michigan at Desert Mountain Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.

UTEP penciled in its highest finish of the season, placing sixth out of 16 teams. The Miners shot 21-over par, 885 (294-295-300). It was the second top-10 finish during the season.

Khaw recorded his best finish as a Miner, placing tied for second. The redshirt junior first a 1-under par 215. Khaw began the third round tied for 16^th and shot a 69 to shoot up 14 spots on the leaderboard.

REDHAWK INVITATIONAL HISTORY
This is the first time the Miners are competing in the eighth annual event. San Francisco won the 2021 tournament, while San Francisco's Soren Lind claimed the individual title.
