EL PASO, Texas – Yu-Hsi Chen from Taiwan has signed with the UTEP tennis team and will attend school and compete with the program beginning of the fall of 2024, head coach Ivan Fernandez announced Monday.

A top junior player with a singles and doubles UTR above 9 … recently claimed a junior ITF J200 doubles championship … advanced to the quarterfinals in singles at the event … boasts a record of 31-17 in singles and 34-5 in doubles this year … will be the first Miner from Taiwan during the Ivan Fernandez era.
 
"We are very excited to sign Yu-Hsi to join our UTEP Tennis family for Fall 2024. She is an extremely experienced and talented player who will have an immediate impact in the lineup as soon as she arrives on campus. This is my first recruit from Taiwan, and I hope this leads to us being able to recruit more players from this part of the world."
