Miners to Conclude Regular Season at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

EL PASO, Texas – For the 14th straight season, UTEP women's golf will take part in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic starting on Monday at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (par 72, 6,191 yards) in Maricopa, Ariz.
 
The Miners won the event in 2010 and 2019, with a total of five top-five finishes as a program.
 
Live scoring will be available on GolfStat during the tournament, which will feature 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.
 
This is the final tune up for UTEP prior to the Conference USA Women's Golf Championship on April 13-15 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
 
Throughout the season, the Miners have displayed growth as a team, rattling off five consecutive top-five finishes, including posting fourth last time out at the HCU Husky Invitational.
 
A total of 20 teams are set to participate this week in Arizona, including Wyoming, UTEP, Boise State, Cal Baptist, CSU Fullerton, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Hawaii, Idaho, Long Beach State, Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Portland State, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, UC Davis, UC Riverside and UNLV.
 
Daniela Chipchase, Sophie Delfosse, Andrea Ostos, Nawel Ben Letaief and Marta Romeu Chen will compete for the Miners.
 
Romeu Chen is coming off a career-best finish at the HCU Husky Invitational, tying for fourth with a six-over par 222.
 
The UTEP individuals will tee off at 7:30 a.m. MST/8:30 a.m. MDT on Monday morning.
