EL PASO, Texas. –
UTEP women's basketball (6-9, 1-1 CUSA) travels to Murfreesboro to take on Middle Tennessee (12-4, 2-0 CUSA) in the first conference road test of the season on Thursday evening. Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm MT/ 6:30 pm CT.

PREVIOUSLY ON...
UTEP fell to 6-9 on the year with an 83-62 loss to FIU on Jan. 13. Mahri Petree tallied a game-high 19 points to go with four steals, four assists, and two rebounds. Erin Wilson posted 16 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year. Jane Asinde had seven points, five rebounds, and three steals.
 
POWERFUL PETREE
Mahri Petree's 19 points against FIU were the second most she has scored this season and marked her fifth game with double-digit points in the campaign.
 
ELECTRIC ERIN
Erin Wilson has continued her fine run of form, scoring in double figures for the fourth straight game and 12th time this season. She has tallied five double-doubles in that time.
 
STICKY FINGERS
The Miners snagged 12 steals against FIU, which was double the amount of the Panthers. Mahri Petree led the efforts with four, followed by Jane Asinde and Delma Zita with three.
 
PASTRY OF THE DAY: TURNOVERS
UTEP forced 22 turnovers against FIU. It was the sixth time this season the Miners have forced 20 or more turnovers.

Erin Wilson sits second in CUSA and 11th in the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game (4.1).
 
IN THE RANKS
Two Miners are putting up stats that place them in the top 100 in the national rankings. Jane Asinde is second in CUSA and 45th in the country in double-doubles (six) and leads the league while sitting 45th in the nation in free throw attempts (88). Erin Wilson ranks second in CUSA and 11th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (4.1) while sitting third in the league and 69th in the country in rebounds per game (8.6).
 
WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
Eight different Miners have recorded at least one block this season, led by Dunja Zecevic with nine. Jane Asinde has posted eight and Mahri Petree has five.
 
SCOUTING MIDDLE TENNESSEE
Middle Tennessee is averaging 69.6 points and 38.3 rebounds per game. The Lady Raiders are ranked in the top 100 nationally in several categories, including leading CUSA and sitting 26th in the nation in turnovers per game (13.1), and ranking first in conference, 31st in the country in free throw percentage (77.0). They also lead the league and rank 33rd nationally in blocks per game (4.8), and are first in CUSA, 52nd in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing 57.6 points per game. Savannah Wheeler leads the charge for Middle Tennessee, averaging 15.3 points per game. Three other Lady Raiders are averaging double figures in scoring, Anastasiia Boldyreva (14.7), Jalynn Gregory (11.9), and Ta'Mia Scott (11.8). Boldyreva leads the team in rebounds (8.1) and blocks (3.1). Scott and Gregory share the team lead in steals (1.9 each) while Wheeler also tops the team in assists (4.3). Multiple players for Middle Tennessee are ranked in the top 100 nationally in different categories. Boldyreva leads the conference and sits sixth in the nation in both blocks (50) and blocks per game (3.1), while also leading the league and ranking 30th in the country in field goal percentage (57.2). Wheeler tops CUSA and sits seventh nationally in minutes per game (37.05) and leads conference and ranks 86th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.94). Gregory places second in CUSA and 21st in NCAA in three-point attempts (124) and leads the league while ranking 79th nationally in three pointers per game (2.38). She also is third in conference, 18th in the country in minutes per game (36.32). Courteney Whitson ranks second in CUSA and eighth in the NCAA in minutes per game (36.88).
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE LADY RAIDERS
The Miners are 3-11 against the Lady Raiders all-time. The last matchup between the two squads ended in a 64-54 victory for Middle Tennessee in the CUSA Championships on 3/10/23.
