UTEP Men’s Golf to Compete Wyoming Cowboy Classic April 1-2

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP men's golf team will tee off at the 2024 Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes (par 72 | 7,546 yards) in Maricopa, Ariz., on Monday and Tuesday. 
 
Taking the course for the Miners are Dylan Teeter (72.7 stroke average – tops on the team), Greg Holmes (74.7), Jacob Presutti (74.2), Braden Smith (74.2) and Sebastian Sandin (75.7).

Monday and Tuesday's tee times are shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. MST/8:30 MT. 
 
The Miners (ranked no. 118) will compete against host Wyoming (125), Air Force (251), USC (103), Utah Valley (170), Grand Canyon (70), Southern Utah (258), Utah St. (187), UNLV (49), Kansas (61), Northern Colorado (173), Weber State (204), St. Mary's (74), Iowa St. (101), UC Davis (117), Long Beach St. (48), UC Irvine (163), Kennesaw St. (98), UT Arlington (179), Wichita St. (175), Hawaii (140), Cal State Fullerton (68) and CSUN (124).

The UTEP men's golf team finished in 12th place at the 34th annual Duck Invitational hosted by Oregon at the Eugene Country Club (par 71 | 6,995 yards) on March 26. 
 
Sandin penciled in a t-fifth-place finish, competing as an individual at the 2024 Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational at the Silverado Resort and Spa (par 72 | 6,988 yards) in Napa, Calif., on March 26. Sandin (72-71-69) turned in his best card of the season, firing 4-under par 212. Sandin tallied 10 birdies during the two-day event. Sandin shot up two spots following the season's best round (69). 
 
Back in Eugene, the Miners (298-298-290) shot their lowest score of the week with a 290 on the final 18 holes to move up two spots at 34-over par 886. Illinois (294-278-278) won the tournament at 2-under par 850, seven strokes ahead of host Oregon (283-289-285—857).
 
Holmes finished as the top Miner for the fourth time this season. Overall, Holmes (74-70-71) shot 2-over par 215, tying with two other competitors. Holmes finished tied for second amongst the field with 41 pars.
