UTEP Women’s Golf Preps for CUSA Championship

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP women's golf travels to Magnolia, Texas to compete in the 2024 CUSA Women's Golf Championship April 15-17.

The tournament is set to take place at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club (par 72, 6,258 yards). First round action tees off Monday (4/15) at 6:30 am MT/ 7:30 am CT with rounds two and three following Tuesday and Wednesday.
 
The Miners finished eighth out of nine teams at the 2023 Championship.
 
The field consists of seven teams, including FIU, Jax State, Middle Tennessee, NM State, Sam Houston, WKU, and UTEP.
 
Marta Romeu Chen (74.1), Andrea Ostos (75.9), Luciana Origel (77.1), Taline Kyoumjian (75.3), and Nawel Ben Letaief (74.3) will take the course for UTEP. Lea Dawson will travel as an alternate for the Miners.
 
UTEP has competed nine times this season, tying for fifth out of 17 teams at MSU/ Payne Stewart Memorial, earning fifth out of 10 teams at the Red Raider Invitational, placing ninth at both the Golf Iconic Classic and the Clash at Boulder Creek (out of 17 and 19 teams, respectively), finishing seventh out of 14 squads at the Texas State Invitational, earning ninth place out of 21 the GCU Invitational, placing seventh out of 17 teams at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein, finishing 10th out of 10 teams at the Pinetree Women's Intercollegiate, and most recently tying for 11th out of 21 teams at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
 
Romeu Chen, Kyoumjian, and Origel all finished with an 8-over par 224 to tie for 40th at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic and lead the Miners.
