UTEP Men’s Golf Sits Tied Fourth, Teeter Tied Fourth after 36 Holes at Gaucho Invitational Monday

GOLETA, Calif. – 
The UTEP men's golf team shot a 282, its second-lowest round of the season to move up a spot tied for fourth place while Dylan Teeter fired a career-best 6-under par 66 to finish out the first two rounds at the 2024 Gaucho Invitational hosted by UC Santa Barbara at the Sand Piper Golf Club (par 72 | 7,159 yards) on Monday.
 
The Miners (285-282) turned in their second-best card after 36 holes at 9-under par 567. UTEP is three strokes behind Loyola Marymount (287-277—564) and Utah (282-281—564) and 11 strokes behind the leader of the pack Nevada (275-281—556). Utah Tech (291-310—601) is in last place and host Santa Barbara (286-290—576) is even at sixth. 
 
Teeter (72-66—138) started the second round tied for 24th before he penciled in an impressive 66 on the next 18 holes to shoot up 20 spots. Teeter tallied nine birdies, including six in the second round of play. His 66 is the lowest of any Miner for any round this season. 
 
Teeter is four strokes behind leader Nevada's Enrique Dimayuga (68-66) who shot 10-under par 134. Utah's Brandon Robinson (68-67—135) and Santa Clara's JP Odland (68-69—137) round out the top three competitors. 
 
Greg Holmes (69-71) is tied for 10th after firing 4-under par 140. He also recorded nine birdies. 
 
Sebastian Sandin (71-73) finished the day at even-par 144, sitting tied for 19th. Sandin registered seven birdies. 
 
Jacob Presutti (74-72) turned in a 2-over 146 placing tied for 27th. Presutti eagled hole no. 1 (par 5) in round two. 
 
Braden Smith (68-79—147), competing as an individual, is tied for 32nd. Smith's first-round score was tied for his season best. 
 
Patrick Foley (73-76—149) is in 45th place.

Tuesday's final round will start at 7:30 a.m. PT/8:30 MT (split tee #1/#10 tee times).
