Sun City Classic Headlines 2025 UTEP Track & Field Schedule

2025 UTEP INDOOR/OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD SCHEDULE

EL PASO – The UTEP track and field team will host its first regular season home event in six years as the 2025 indoor/outdoor slate was officially released on Friday. The Miners will host the Sun City Classic on Friday, April 11.

The track and field squad will commence the new campaign with the indoor portion of the schedule as UTEP will open at Texas Tech's Corky Classic on Friday, Jan. 17 through Saturday in Lubbock at the Sports Performance Center.

The Miners will make back-to-back stops in Albuquerque at the New Mexico Team Open on Friday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, and the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14-15 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The distance runners will compete at Washington's Husky Classic on Feb. 14-15 in Seattle at the Dempsey Indoor Facility.

UTEP will close out the regular indoor season at the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 21, at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.

The 2025 Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held from Friday, Feb. 28, to March 1 at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg.

The NCAA ITF Championships are at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex on Friday, March 14-15, in Virginia Beach, Va.

The outdoor season will open on Thursday, March 20 at Arizona's Willie Williams Classic through Saturday, March 22 in Tucson at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.

The prestigious 97^th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays opens the four-day event on Wednesday, March 26-29 in Austin at Mike Myers Stadium.

The Miners will see action at the Masked Rider Open on Friday, April 4-5 in Lubbock at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex.

Home action returns to the 915 for the first time in six seasons when UTEP hosts the Sun City Classic on Friday, April 11, at Larry K. Durham Track at Kidd Field. The Miners hosted the UTEP Springtime on March 15-16, 2019, and recently hosted the 2024 Conference USA Championships this past May.

The Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18) and the Mt. SAC Relays (April 16-19) will follow during the same weekend. The Miners will see action in Azusa, Calif., at Cougar Athletic Stadium for the Bryan Clay while also competing in Walnut, Calif., in Hilmer Lodge Stadium at the Mt. SAC Relays.

The Miners will head back to the ABQ for the Don Kirby Tailwind Open on Friday, April 25 at UNM Track & Field and Soccer Complex, while closing out the regular season at Arizona's Desert Heat Classic on Saturday, May 3 in Tucson at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.

Postseason competition will begin at the CUSA OTF Championships on Friday, May 16-18, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium The conference championships return to Middle Tennessee for the first time since 2021. The men's team finished in second place that season.

The NCAA Championships First Round will be held from Wednesday, May 28, to Sunday, May 31, in College Station, Texas, at E.B. Cushing Stadium while the NCAA Championships will continue in Eugene, Ore., at historic Hayward Field on Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14.
