UTEP Beach Volleyball Signs Five for 2027 Season

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP head beach volleyball coach Daniel Foo announced the signing of Daniela Guerra-Acuña (San Antonio, Texas), Taylor Hopkins (Cedar Park, Texas), Jennavee Jensen (Cedar Park, Texas), Hannah Meythaler (Colbert, Wash.), and Marley Williams (Chelan, Wash.). The five standouts will join the Miners in Fall 2026 and make their collegiate debuts during the Spring 2027 beach volleyball season.

"I am very excited for this class and the impact they will have in pushing our program forward," Foo said. "Each of these athletes brings competitive experience, drive, and potential, and I expect them to make an immediate impact when they arrive in El Paso."

Daniela Guerra-Acuña – San Antonio, Texas | Louis D. Brandeis HS | 210 Beach Volleyball
Guerra-Acuña arrives in El Paso as one of San Antonio's top defensive specialists, closing her prep career with 1,239 digs and 334 kills while helping Brandeis to consistent postseason appearances, including Bi-District and Area titles. She earned First Team All-District, multiple Academic All-District honors, and recognition from the San Antonio Express-News as a Player to Watch for 2025.

Her beach development comes through 210 Beach Volleyball, where she trained under Brandon Severyn, Lance Pulliam, and Jason Kaiser as part of the club's national team program.

Taylor Hopkins – Cedar Park, Texas | Vista Ridge HS | AJV Sand
An elite multisport athlete and standout sprinter, Hopkins joins the Miners with national beach experience and a decorated academic résumé. She helped AJV Sand win the 2025 AAU Premier Division Club National Championship and placed fourth at BVCA Club Nationals (2024).

Individually, Hopkins is a three-time JVA Watch List honoree, a two-time NTDP Accelerator athlete, and a team captain at both the high school and club levels. Academically, she is a 4.0 Ridge Scholar and three-time Academic All-District selection.

Jennavee Jensen – Cedar Park, Texas | Vista Ridge HS
Jensen enters the UTEP program as a prolific indoor attacker with more than 1,300 career kills, 894 digs, 208 aces, and 62 blocks. A three-time First Team All-District honoree and the 2023 District Newcomer of the Year, she also earned AVCA All-Region (2024) and was an Austin-Area Athlete of the Week selection in 2025.

Jensen has built a reputation for dynamic shot-making and competitiveness, projecting as a high-impact option on the beach.

Hannah Meythaler – Colbert, Washington | Mt. Spokane HS | Kokua Beach Volleyball Club
Meythaler brings championship pedigree from one of Washington's top high-school programs, helping Mt. Spokane finish 6th, 3rd, and 2nd in consecutive 3A state tournaments. The multi-sport letterwinner (volleyball, tennis) is a National Honor Society member and a product of the prestigious Kokua Beach Volleyball Club.

With Kokua, she captured the AAU National Championship (Club Division), training under an elite group of coaches including Chan Esperas and Mack Tate.

Marley Williams – Chelan, Washington | Chelan HS | Kokua Beach Volleyball
A four-time state champion and multi-sport standout, Williams brings high-level indoor success and beach development through Kokua. She was a three-year varsity volleyball letterwinner, earning Second Team All-League as a sophomore and First Team honors her junior and senior seasons.

Williams also excelled academically as a four-year honor roll recipient and helped Kokua capture the 2025 AAU Club vs. Club National Championship.
