HOLLISTER, Mo. –
Luciana Origel placed second at the Ozarks National Invitational at Ozarks National Golf Course (par 72, 6,047 yards) on Wednesday. It marks the highest finish of her collegiate career thus far.

She finished with a 7-over par 223 (76-73-74) after shooting 2-over par in the final round of competition. She earned eight birdies over the course of the competition. It was her third time this season as the top UTEP finisher, and second top-10 finish of the campaign.

Origel led the field going into round three, but South Dakota State's Piper Stubbs (74-77-69—220) shot 3-under par on the final day to take individual title. Origel shared second place with Northern Iowa's Ann Jensen (74-77-72—223) (+7).

UTEP placed third as a team, shooting a 52-over par 916 (315-304-297). It is the second time in 2024-25 that the Miners have finished in the top five as a team after they took second at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate Feb. 11-12. It is also UTEP's fifth top-10 finish of the campaign.

Lea Dawson (76-77-76) and Marta Romeu Chen (79-78-72) tied for 10th, both finishing with a 13-over par 229. They finished with three and seven birdies, respectively. It was both players' first top-10 finish of the season, while also tying a career-high finish for Dawson.

It marked the first time since 2019 that three Miners have finished in the top-10 at the same tournament. Audrey Haddad (third), Valeria Mendizabal (fifth) and Andrea Ostos (eighth) did so at the Aggie Invitational (Oct. 7-9, 2019).

Daniela Chipchase jumped 20 spots in the final round, finishing T23rd with a 21-over par 237 (85-77-75). She tallied five birdies over three rounds.

It is the second time this season that the Miners had four players finish in the top-25 individually after also accomplishing the feat at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate.

Nawel Ben Letaief penciled in a 30-over par 246 (84-77-85) to tie for 60th, posting four birdies.

South Dakota State took home the team title with a 33-over par 897 (304-302-291) while South Dakota placed second at 40-over par 904 (217-295-292).
