BOCA RATON, Fla. – UTEP Beach Volleyball dropped both of its duals Saturday at the Capri Classic, hosted at the Beach Burrow in Boca Raton. The Miners fell 5-0 to FGCU in the morning session, then returned to the sand for a rematch against South Florida in the consolation match, where the Bulls claimed a 4-1 victory. 

Dual 1: FGCU 5, UTEP 0 

Against FGCU, the Miners battled on several courts, with the top pair forcing a decisive third set after dropping the opener. UTEP responded with a second-set win, but the Eagles held off the rally to complete the sweep.

Dual 2: USF 4, UTEP 1-Consolation 

In the afternoon matchup with USF, the Miners quickly evened the score after the Bulls struck first on court 3. UTEP's pair on court 5 responded with a straight-set victory to tie the dual at 1-1. However, South Florida closed out the remaining matches, clinching the dual on court 2. Courts 2 and 4 went the distance, but the Bulls emerged on top.

The Miners return to Arizona next weekend for a trio of head-to-head matchups. UTEP will take on Arizona in Tucson on April 18 before heading to Tempe to face Arizona State and Benedictine on April 19.
