UTEP Men’s Golf Opens Spring Play at Arizona’s N.I.T. Jan. 26-27

EL PASO – UTEP men's golf will take the links for the first time since late September when the Miners tee off at the 23rd National Invitational Tournament hosted by Arizona in Tucson at the Omni Tucson National Resort (Catalina Course | par 73, 7,262 yards), starting Monday through Tuesday.

Teeing off for the Miners are Dylan Teeter (69.0 stroke average), Patrick Foley (70.5), Braden Smith (71.4), Valentine Luna (73.3) and Alexandre Godin (71.8).
 
Thirteen schools are at the N.I.T. as the Miners will compete against host no. 30 Arizona, no. 27 BYU, Cal, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Howard, Iowa State, no. 17 New Mexico, Saint Mary's (CA), Santa Clara, no. 5 Texas, and Wyoming.

UTEP men's golf moved up a spot to finish fifth overall out of 19 schools after shooting 13-under par 275 in the final round of the 15th Annual Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club (par 72 | 7,787 yards) on Sept. 30, 2025.
 
The Miners (283-280-275) penciled in 26-under par 838 during the two-day tourney. UTEP finished ahead of sixth-place Loyola Marymount (281-281-277—839) by a stroke.
 
UTEP led the field with 182 pars. The Miners registered 50 birdies (10th most) and three eagles. UTEP ranked third on par 3 holes, averaging 3.07 (+4), and was fourth on par 5s at 4.7 average (-18). 
 
Marc Keller (70-66-70) had his best finish as a Miner, placing tied for seventh place. He shot a career-best 54-hole score of 10-under par 206. The junior transfer penciled in a phenomenal career-best round of 6-under par 66 to shoot up 16 spots in the leaderboard following his second-round effort. Keller totaled eight birdies, while adding a pair of eagles on holes 7 (par 5, 576 yards) and 12 (par 5, 564) in round two. Keller led the field with 42 pars and ranked tied for second with his two eagles. 
 
Dylan Teeter (73-71-67—211) shot up 26 spots to tie for 27th overall after firing 5-under par in round three. Teeter birdied eight holes in the final round. Teeter tallied 13 total birdies during the event.
