DALLAS – UTEP freshman Amelia Fridlund was named the Energy Transfer Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The honor marks the first Conference USA Golfer of the Week award of her collegiate career.

Fridlund led UTEP to the team title at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Bowling Green in Litchfield Park, Ariz. (Feb. 10–11), marking the program's first tournament team championship since April 9, 2019, while also capturing individual medalist honors.

The freshman climbed three spots on the final day to finish 3-under par, carding rounds of 70, 69, and 69 (210). Her second-round 69 tied a career-low round score, while her 210 marked a career-best 54-hole total and stands as the second-lowest individual 54-hole score in program history.

During the tournament, Fridlund recorded 12 birdies and one eagle across 54 holes.

The performance marked the first individual victory of Fridlund's collegiate career and capped a milestone week for the Miners.
