UTEP Men’s Golf Tied for Second After Two Rounds at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate on Monday

RESULTS DAY 1

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The #75-ranked UTEP men's golf team shot 3-under par in round two, moving up the leaderboard tied for second after playing 36 holes at Stetson's Sam Ryder Intercollegiate at The Hills Course at LPGA International (par 72 | 6,984 yards) on Monday.

The Miners (296-285—581) are 13 strokes behind leader Stetson (283-285—568), and tied with Campbell (286-295—581). Baylor (293-290—583) is fourth.

Patrick Foley (72-73—145) and Alexandre Godin (73-72—145) are the top Miners and tied for 10^th heading into the third round. Godin shot up five spots after shooting even par in round two. Godin tallied six birdies on the afternoon. Foley shot 1-over par in the second round, dropping a spot.

Marc Keller (73-73—146) is tied for 14^th. Dylan Teeter (78-70—148) got off to a slow start but rebounded with a 2-under par in round two to shoot up 32 spots to tie for 26^th. Braden Smith (79-70—149) also got off to a rough start, but penciled in a 2-under par in round two to dart up 34 spots to tie for 31^st.

On the player leaderboard, Stetson's Jackson Hicks (67-73—140) and Matthis Lefevre (70-70—140) are tied for first. Lefevre moved up two spots with his second-round score. Campbell's Benjamin Killingstad (72-70—142) is third, and teammate William Sundborn (69-74—143) is fourth. Five players are tied for fifth at even par (144), with Foley and Godin one stroke behind.

UTEP leads the field on par 5 holes, shooting 9-under (4.78 avg.). The Miners are second with 32 birdies – Baylor leads with 35. UTEP is fourth with 114 pars – Stetson leads with 134.
