UTEP Athletics Announces Executive Team Updates

EL PASO, Texas – Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter announced changes to UTEP Athletics' Executive Team on Wednesday.
 
Jeff Darby has been elevated to Chief of Staff while retaining his Deputy AD title. Michael Levy has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer while continuing to serve as Deputy AD. Amanda Pulido was elevated to Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) earlier this month. UTEP Athletics' Executive Team is also composed of Dale Brown (Senior Associate AD for Compliance), Danny Garcia (Senior Associate AD for Business, Finance & Facilities/CFO), and Jon Washington (Associate AD for Fan Engagement & Digital Strategy. 
 
"I am very excited to elevate several of our Executive Team members into enhanced leadership positions in order to streamline organizational effectiveness and maximize their talents," Senter said. 
 
Darby will retain oversight of trademarks and licensing, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning. The veteran of more than 25 years at UTEP Athletics will also assume project management duties and represent the Director of Athletics at meetings when necessary. He will serve as the sport administrator for men's basketball while continuing to supervise softball. 
 
Levy, who joined the department in February 2024, has been elevated to Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In this expanded role, he will continue to oversee the Miner Athletic Club and the Eisenberg Family Athletics Ticket Office while adding supervisory responsibility for Washington and the external units under Washington's direction. Levy will also serve as the department's liaison to multimedia rights partner Van Wagner. He is the sport administrator for men's and women's golf.
 
Washington, heading into his fifth season with the Miners, will assume supervision of the strategic communications unit, while continuing to oversee marketing, fan engagement and digital strategy, Miner Vision, and video/graphics for the department. He will take over as the sport administrator for soccer while continuing to oversee rifle.
 
Brown will serve as a secondary sport administrator for softball, while continuing in his role as sport administrator for the indoor volleyball program. Garcia will add oversight of the football program to his list of responsibilities. Pulido will now serve as the sport administrator for women's basketball, in addition to continuing to supervise men's and women's cross country and track and field.  
 
Mark Gisbertz, who served as director of operations for the Miner men's basketball program from 2018-21, returned to UTEP as Associate Athletic Director for Development in July of 2023. His oversight role will be elevated, leading the Miner Athletic Club (MAC) and all of UTEP Athletics' development efforts as Associate Athletics Director/Executive Director of the MAC. The MAC is the principal fundraising arm of UTEP Athletics, representing the student-athletes, coaches, and staff who support the department's sports programs. Gisbertz will oversee the beach volleyball program.
