LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UTEP softball continued its tradition of academic excellence as 17 Miners were named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. To earn the distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Halle Hogan collected the honor for the third time in her career, while nine Miners garnered the recognition for the second time. Seven additional student-athletes earned the accolade for the first time.
UTEP also placed four student-athletes on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Softball Team, with Marissa Burchard, Hogan, Brantley Lavas and Iliana Munoz receiving the recognition.
As a team, the Miners posted a 3.48 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year. UTEP also had 22 student-athletes named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, while 10 earned CUSA Academic Medals for maintaining a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

About the NFCA
Established in 1983, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) is a professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play. Although collegiate coaches comprised the majority of the organization's membership in the early days, today they are joined by high school, travel ball, professional and international coaches, along with umpires, clubs, companies and fans of fastpitch softball. Growing from 40 members in 1983 to over 7,000 today, the NFCA boasts members from all 50 states and several international countries.
