EL PASO, Texas – UTEP rifle head coach
Andrea Palafox has announced the Miners' 2026-27 competition schedule, featuring seven home dates and matchups against several of the nation's top programs. All UTEP home competitions will be held at the UTEP Rifle Range inside the Military Science Building.
The 2026-27 slate includes 13 regular-season matches, with six regular-season home dates and seven on the road. Including the Patriot Rifle Conference Championship and NCAA Qualifier, UTEP will compete in 15 total events throughout the season.
UTEP will open the season at home on
Oct. 3 against Schreiner at the UTEP Rifle Range, located inside the Military Science Building. The Miners will then host Alaska on
Oct. 23 and TCU on
Oct. 24 before traveling to Columbus, Ohio, for a two-day competition against Ohio State on
Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
The Miners return home for a pair of matches against Ohio State on
Nov. 21-22 to close out the fall slate.
UTEP opens spring competition against Nebraska in Lincoln on
Jan. 9-10, followed by a road matchup at Ole Miss on
Jan. 16. The Miners will then host Ole Miss on
Jan. 23 before traveling to TCU for a two-day competition in Fort Worth on
Jan. 30-31.
UTEP will compete in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championship on
Feb. 5-6, hosted by Nebraska. The team returns home to face Schreiner for the NCAA Qualifier match on
Feb. 20.
Following the NCAA Qualifier, the Miners will turn their attention toward postseason competition, with the NCAA Rifle Championships set for
March 12-13 in Statesboro, Georgia, hosted by Georgia Southern. UTEP looks to return to the national stage after
Kameron Wells represented the Miners at the 2026 NCAA Rifle Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Wells finished 15th in air rifle at the national championship.
