UTEP Men’s Golf to Compete at Duck Invitational in Eugene on March 27 & 28

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP men's golf team will tee off its third spring event when the Miners take the links at the 33rd Annual Duck Invitational hosted by Oregon at Eugene Country Club (par 71 | 6,995 yards) on Monday and Tuesday.

The 54-hole event tees off on Monday morning with 36 holes (rounds 1-2) at 9:30 a.m. MT, while Tuesday's final round will also start at 9:30 a.m. 
 
The 14-team tournament field includes UTEP, host no. 28 Oregon, Boise State, Cal Poly, Colorado, no. 23 Colorado State, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon State, Pacific, San Jose State and Santa Clara.
 
Making the trip for the Miners are Max Schliesing (72.6 scoring avg.), Greg Holmes (73.6), Marcus Khaw (72.2), Jacob Presutti (73.5), and Ryan Lewis (80.0). Schliesing, Khaw and Presutti are each competing in their eighth tournament this season, while Holmes is playing his seventh and Lewis, a freshman, is playing in his second career event.

The Miners shot a 906 (297-305-304) at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate hosted Michigan on March 4-5 in Scottsdale, Ariz. UTEP finished in 12th place out of 16 programs.
 
Khaw finished as the top Miner, placing t-7th after shooting 2-over par 218. He shot a 71 in the first round, followed by a 72 in the second and a 75 in the final round.
