UTEP XC set to Compete at Arizona’s Dave Murray Invitational Saturday

EL PASO – UTEP Cross Country will take the course at Arizona's Dave Murray Invitational at Tucson Country Club on Saturday. 
 
The men's 8k will start at 7 a.m. MST/8 MDT, while the women's 6k will begin at 7:35 a.m. MST/8:35 MDT.

Traveling for the women's squad are Isabella Campa, Andrea Castillo, Bobbi Guillen, Brenda Jerop, Vallary Kiplagat and Salma Licon. 
 
For the men,  Malin Arnoldussen, Evan Avitia, Carmelo Corral, Matthew Guerra, Andrés Gurrola, Christian Hurtado, Juan Leal, Luis Pastor, Israel Quintana, Paul Rotich, Aron Tanui, Nethaneel Taylor and Jacob Yeager are competing on Saturday. 
 
In their previous race, the men's team won the 5k at the Lobo Invitational on Sept. 13, as Gurrola clocked in a personal-best time of 15:13.67 to finish as the top Miner and second overall out of 39 competitors. It was the first win for the men at a meet since 2021.
