UTEP Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for Seventh at Cowboy Classic on Wednesday

FINAL RESULTS

MARICOPA, Ariz. – UTEP fired 11-under par, placing tied for seventh of 25 competing teams at Wyoming's Cowboy Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (par 72 | 7,330 yards) on Wednesday afternoon.
 
UTEP has finished in the top 10 in all 10 tournaments this season, and has 14 consecutive top-10 showings, dating back to the 2024-25 campaign.
 
The Miners (281-281-291—853) tied for seventh place with USF (288-278-287—847) and host Wyoming (286-287-280—853). #28 USC (272-282-284—838) won the team title, shooting 26-under par. #46 Arkansas State (273-283-283—839) finished a stroke behind the Trojans, and Grand Canyon (274-280-287—841) rounded out the top three. UTEP finished four strokes behind sixth-place St. Mary's (282-280-287—849). 
 
UTEP's 51 birdies tied with UNLV for the ninth-most in the field. The Miners' 165 pars ranked 10th
 
Dylan Teeter (71-67-70) was the top Miner for the seventh time this season and tied for sixth after firing 8-under par 208. It was Teeter's best finish since September. Teeter tied for the team lead and tied for eighth in the field with 14 birdies. Teeter moved up two spots after shooting 2-under par 70 in the third round. Teeter's 67 in the second tied for his season-low. 
 
Valentin Luna (67-73-73) shot a UTEP-career low 3-under par 213 and career-low round of 5-under par 67 on the first 18 holes on Tuesday morning. Valentin tied for 20th overall.
 
Marc Keller (70-68-81) shot 3-over 219, but struggled in the third round after a 4-under par 68 in the second. Keller also had 14 birdies. Keller penciled in 12 of those birdies in the first two rounds, but had seven bogeys in the third to drop 52 spots. 
 
Braden Smith (73-76-73—222) finished tied for 77th. Smith recorded five birdies and tied third overall in the field with 40 pars. 
 
Colin Price (80-73-75—228) tied for 104th. Price had five birdies.  
 
Arkansas State's #63 Thomas Schmidt (67-67-69—203) won the individual championship with a dominating performance. Schmidt was tied third with 17 birdies and sank an eagle. 
 
CSU Northridge's Bryson Barnes (69-66-70—205) finished two strokes behind the winner. Teammates from USC, Luke Stock (66-69-71—206) and Jack Buchanan (67-69-70—206) tied for third.
