"We're excited for the opportunity to compete this weekend at the SMU Invitational in Dallas as we head into our final meet before the Conference USA Championships in two weeks in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This is an important weekend for us—not only to continue sharpening our performances for conference, but also to give our athletes a chance to improve their marks as we look toward qualifying more individuals for the first round of the NCAA Championships," first-year UTEP head coach Francesca Green said. "At this point in the season, it's about execution, confidence, and putting everything together. We've put in the work, and now it's about seeing where we're at against good competition and continuing to raise our level. We're very excited about this opportunity and looking forward to a strong weekend as we prepare for championship season."

The 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships are on May 15-17 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
