UTEP Track & Field Competes at the New Mexico Don Kirby Tailwind Twilight April 24

EL PASO – The UTEP track and field team will see action at the New Mexico Don Kirby Tailwind Twilight on Friday evening at the UNM Track & Field Complex in Albuquerque.

The meet begins at 5 p.m. MDT with the men's and women's shot put, while the gun goes off for the track events at 6:30 p.m. with the men's 4x100-meter relay. The meet will wrap up with the women's 4x400-meter relay at 9:20 p.m.

Live results or a stream will not be available for the meet.

Competing for the women's side are Samirah Avila (200m, 100H, javelin, shot put), Oghenekaro Brume (100m, 200m, 4x1, 4x4), Isabella Campa (800m), Andrea Castillo (800m), Grace Culver (100m, 100H, long jump), Sarah Dovenbarger (pole vault), Elijah Ebow-Renich (200m, 100H, long jump, shot put), Peace Ewa (high jump), Lizbeth Fierro (hammer throw), Samahri Foster (400H, 4x4), Jaylah Harris (100m, 200m), Cydni Martin (200m, 100H, 4x1, 4x4), Amai Newman (400m, 4x4), Malorie Richardson-Clay (shot put), Braela Sargent (200m, 100H, long jump, shot put), Addison Stricklin (200m, 4x1) and Juantai-Shay Williams (100m, 200m, 4x1).

Going for the men are Sebastian Avena (400m, 4x4), Oleksandr Blonskyi (400m, javelin, pole vault), Alex Brown (triple jump), Luke Cerda (200m, 400m, javelin, pole vault), Damon Flemmings (400m, javelin), Joshua Ford (100m, 200m), Kayden Gibson (200m, 110H), Timothy Grice (100m, 200m, 4x1, 4x4), Arion Hill (100m, 110H), Deondre McIntosh (100m, 200m, 4x1), Elias Munoz (100m, 200m, 4x1), Elijah Munoz (javelin), Israel Quintana (3000m), Kalix Robinson (400H, 4x4), Paul Rotich (800m, 1500m), Amari Taylor (400m, 4x4), Zacarias Velasquez (100m, long jump), and Amir Williams (100m, 110H, 4x1).

"We're excited to compete at the Don Kirby Twilight Meet at the University of New Mexico. This meet gives us a chance to stay competitive and continue sharpening our performances as we get deeper into the outdoor season," first-year UTEP head coach Francesca Green said. "Right now, it's about fine-tuning details, trusting our preparation, and competing with confidence. We want to see our athletes take ownership of their events and continue showing growth in how they execute. Every opportunity matters at this stage, and we're looking forward to seeing our group respond and continue progressing this weekend."

This is the first of the last two regular-season meets before the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 15-17 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Miners conclude the regular season at the SMU Invite on May 1-2.
