2011 Exhibition Spring Season Set To Kick Off
The UTEP soccer team is set to open up its 2011 exhibition spring season this weekend by taking on a pair of Pac-10 powers. The Miners will play at Arizona State at 1 p.m. on Sat., March 26 before challenging Arizona at 1 p.m. on Sun., March 27.
Consecutive games at Texas Tech (April 9 & 10) will wrap up the road portion of the exhibition slate. UTEP will battle I-10 rival NM State at 7 p.m. MDT at University Field on April 13 before concluding the spring against the Alberta Provincial squad on April 30.
During last year's spring slate UTEP showed promise for what proved to be a successful 2010 season by battling Arizona State to a 1-1 tie.
2011 Schedule Unveiled
UTEP head soccer coach Kevin Cross has revealed the 2011 schedule, with 12 home matches highlighting the 20-contest slate.
UTEP will renew the battle of I-10 in the season and home opener against NM State (Aug. 19), hold the second-annual Border Bash (Aug. 26 & 28), the 12th-annual Border Shootout (Sept. 9 & Sept. 11) while also playing seven of its 11 Conference USA contests at University Field.
Overall the Miners will face three 2010 NCAA Championship participants throughout the 2011 fall season. The Miners will be in search of their 10th straight winning season, all of which have featured 10+ victories.

2011 Miners Soccer Academy To Return In Summer
The dates for the 2011 Miners Soccer Academy have been announced, with the popular camps set to commence this summer. The camps provide soccer players of all ages the chance to learn from Miner players and coaches.2011 Miners Soccer Academy Brochure

Hall Helping In Fight Against Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis, or CF, is a genetic life-threatening disease that affects over 30,000 Americans. UTEP soccer standout Tess Hall is combining something she loves, surfing, and a passion to help others to get involved in the fight against CF. Her story to help others through surfing will be profiled in an upcoming UTEP Magazine.

Desilets Tabbed Top-10 Senior At UTEP
Outgoing senior and four-year standout Melissa Desilets has been chosen as a recipient of the UTEP Alumni Association Top 10 Senior Award.
It is a tremendous honor for the native of Edmonton who took home Academic All-American honors in November 2010.

The Miners have been embraced by El Paso, and they have rewarded the faithful by turning into a league and regional power. Accounted for 11 of the 12 all-region honorees in school history*
Claimed 46 athletic weekly awards. UTEP had four such awards in five years before Cross' tenure*.
