The UTEP soccer team was clicking on all cylinders during the 2016 exhibition spring season, compiling a mark of 6-1-0. The games don't count in the official standings, but do help set the tone for the 2016 fall season that, kicks off in August.

But before looking too far ahead, it's good to recap the efforts this spring. Among the more notable performances in the spring , was a 2-0 win against Arizona State which was followed up by , another 2-0 victory against fellow Pacific-12 member Arizona

Getting After It In The Classroom

UTEP soccer has a proud history of success on the pitch but the Miners have thrived as well in the classroom. The most recent example came with recognition from the conference level. The soccer team helped UTEP set a school record for most members on the C-USA Academic Honor Roll, accounting for 23 (second only to UTEP Football) of the 154 student-athletes on the list. With the C-USA Academic Medal winners (min. 3.75 cumulative GPA), 11 of UTEP's total 36 student-athletes were courtesy of the soccer program.

Allen Named Top-10 Senior

GK Keighton Allen is a special individual with many accomplishments. Her latest feat, though, is her best to date, with Allen being named a Top-10 Senior at UTEP. The accomplishment did not go unnoticed by the local, with outstanding coverage by ABC7.

Welcome To UTEP

With the departure of some very talented players, the UTEP coaches were hard at work to put together a quality 2016 recruiting class. Head coach Kevin Cross and his staff revealed the signing class on Feb. 3. They then added one final member on March 18.

Winning Ways And Individual Honors

UTEP rolled to an overall record of 11-7-2 in 2015 . The effort secured the 14th straight season with at least 10 victories, making the Miners one of 13 programs nationwide with 10+ wins each year since 2002.

The Miners were particularly impressive on the road; they were 6-3 away from home to notch their school-record third straight season with a winning road record. Overall the six road wins rank as the second most in program history.

When teams experience success by working hard together, individual awards take care of themselves. That once again proved to be the case in 2015, with UTEP receiving recognition both on the conference level and within the region as well.

Other accolades included Bri Barreiro being given the C-USA Spirit of Service Award , Barreiro and Cutaia landing on the C-USA All-Academic Team and Cutaia garnering the highest honor for any student-athlete

Elite Academic Award For Cutaia

Angela Cutaia turned in a stellar senior season, pacing Conference USA in scoring to secure all-conference recognition.

While those were notable feats, the highest honor that Cutaia secured this year was for her combined work in the classroom and on the pitch. The senior was voted by CoSIDA as an first-team Academic All-American.

Parker Enters UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame

One of the prouder moments on the year came off the pitch, with former Miner assistant coach and player Kelly Parker being included in the 2015 UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame Class.

She was the first member of the soccer program to be so distinguished, and helped comprised the 15th class in program history.

Parker was one of the greatest players ever to wear a Miner uniform, piling up 84 points (third all time at school), including a program-best 30 assists during her career (1999-2002). She went on to earn a bronze medal for Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
